DIRtyDiving used to be about me teaching scuba along DIR principles. My professional career has taken me away from teaching scuba, so now I’ve dedicated this website to my diving adventures, tips about DIR diving and what having fun in the water is all about. Especially in the Northeast the Doing It Right diving philosophy still engenders a ton of negative reactions, mostly from divers who don’t know the first thing what DIR diving is all about. Recently, I was in a local dive shop and one of the instructors told me he HATES DIR ‘cause he had to help a 400# guy get out of his one-piece harness and that, according to him, was what made DIR dangerous. Needless to say, being 200# overweight wasn’t the issue (I guess that can be fixed by switching to CCR!). Anyways, have fun visiting these pages and drop me a line if you feel inclined to do so.
Welcome let’s go diving ‘Cause DIR is not a four-letter word
